RCN PHASE 2; PROJECT 3 TECHNICAL SERVICES; JOB 1 TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND DATABASE MANAGEMENT

OBJECTIVE:

The objective of this project is to continue implementation of regional conservation of the NEAFWA’s Regional Species of Greatest Conservation Need and the NE SWAP key priorities, influencing regional and national conservation by supporting the development and maintenance of technical tools and products that clearly define conservation needs and priorities.

EXPECTED RESULTS:

Completed NE SWAP database with all states data represented

A survey of database users that provides feedback on uses and needs

Review of additional invertebrate species for RSGCN selection to better represent this large taxa group on the RSGCN addressing the most critical taxa first

APPROACH:

Through a technical services contract, the NEFWDTC will:

Update and maintain the NE SWAP Database

Add additional data from MA, NJ, and WV

Promote the use of the database and provide technical assistance to new users

Survey database users to track use and improve functions

Maintain and augment database function

Facilitate the review of additional invertebrate species as RSGCN

Manage review of stoneflies, caddisflies, and mayflies and other species as agreed upon with NEFWDTC
